Summer Album w/ Suzy Plantamura

Suzy_for_ck_hof1_3
We are so lucky to have Suzy Plantamura coming back to teach on Saturday, May 31st at 6:00 pm. Suzy Plantamura has been creating scrapbooks of one sort or another since she was in grade school. She has always loved creating art and collecting photos and memorabilia, so when she became a stay at home mom eight years ago, scrapbooking became her passion. Suzy designs projects and pages for Maya Road, KI Love, Elsie and MAMBI. She was named a Memory Makers Master in 2006, HOF winner in 2008 and has been a contributor to many of their books and magazines. She lives in Southern California with her three children and husband and loves to spend time at the beach.

Class Description:

This is a summer album that is 8x8 in size and has five chipboard pages and four sheer plastic pages, all covered on both sides. All papers will be precut and are by Fancy Pants (About A Boy line), Scenic Route (Grafton line), Prima and Love, Elsie. You will receive approximately $72.00 in retail product with the class kit. The fun thing about this class is you can make it whatever you’d like. A trip to Disneyland the beach, you name it. You can easily customize it to make it uniquely yours. Suzy gives you the flexibility to easily adapt this album because she is including a full box of Maya Road chipboard letters as well as paint and ink to cover them in class. You will be learning new techniques to cover chipboard, so come prepared to get messy! There will be detailed directions with color photos of each completed page. The album contains 35 photos if you make it just as I did and most are standard 4x6 shots. There are many hidden pockets and tags to allow you to add journaling as well as additional smaller photos. There is a large pocket for you to add in any memorabilia you may want. You should leave with your album complete ready to add photos if you don’t bring them with you to class already.

We are now taking reservations!

The date is Saturday, May 31st 6-10 pm, and the class fee is $58.00

It's A Happy Day

We've just received 3 great products to share with you.

From KI, we received two new lines. We are so excited to have the two
new releases from "Love Elsie" in the store. Daisy and Forrest have
arrived and both are adorable. "Daisy" is Elsie's dog line, but since
she used such great colors it is easy to use it for non-dog pages too.
The same holds true for her new Forrest line. It contains the perfect
embellishments for all your hiking or camping trips, but the colors are
so universal you can use the paper and rub-ons for just about anything.

Along with Elsie's new lines we also got in KI's "La Di Dah" collection.
This new line contains buttons, rub-ons, stickers, journal books, trim
and more. The line is fresh and new with slight vintage flair to it.

The next new line we got in is from Rouge De Garance. Some of you may
remember this was the new company from France a few years ago. Well,
they are now under the Sanylion umbrella and the exciting part is that
their line still as all the wonderful colors we love. This release is
Urbine, and has a retro, summer vibe to it, mixed with an urban energy.
I know, sounds like an interesting combination, but it is pulled off
perfectly with the rub-ons and stickers they have to go with the papers.
You can check out their website for some design inspiration.

Happy (Belated) NSD

Img_1587wtmkThe day started off with a pile of goodies for everyone, bagels, doughnuts and fresh brewed coffee. It was the perfect way to start a long day of cropping. We took a short break for lunch from Flame Broiler, which gave us the fuel we needed to continue on. After lunch we had even more giveaways and another 12 x 12 page kit was given to everyone!Img_1586wtmk_4

Img_1592wtmk_2 We had a special event within our event going on that day which turned out to be a lot of fun. We had the honor of having a bridal shower at the store during NSD! What a fun idea. Raquel is getting married and wanted to celebrate her day with us. Thank you Raquel and congratulations! It was a blast sharing that with you and your friends.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this great day. There were lots of familiar faces and we had a good time with everyone. We even had a few people stop by just to say ‘hi’ to us. Stephanie Ackerman was one of them and she brought the yummiest chocolate chip cookies with her. Thank you Stephanie!

Cropping with us that day was Cheryl Waters from Fiskars. Cheryl outdid herself with give aways for the store. She came in with two huge baskets of prizes and scissors for everyone cropping. Wow! So sweet Cheryl!

Img_1610wtmk_3 After dinner as an additional surprise, Jamie Harper came in and taught a mini class for us. It was such a cute little project and it was fun to see some people finishing the project complete with pictures. Wow! Jamie was such a wonderful person. She had photo shoots all day long, but still had the energy to come up and teach the class. Wet sandy pants and all! What a trooper!  Img_1600wtmk_2

Happy Monday!

Remarks Remarks1We got some pretty Remarks stickers in today from American Crafts.  I love the pretty flowers and that they come in a variety of colors.  And who can't use date labels, seems you can never have enough of those!

Lb Lisa Bearnson's new book, 50 Moments: Scrapbooking the Pages that Matter Most, arrived.  It has over 164 pages on getting the really important stuff in our albums.  And since Mondays always seem to come way too fast, tips on prioritizing seem perfectly welcome today.  Hope you all have a great week!

Img_1502wtmkHere is the 1 picture we snapped on Wednesday night celebrating Suzy's Hall of Fame win.  We had so much fun socializing and enjoying each other's company.  Thank you to everyone who came by to help us celebrate.

Img_1484wtmk Img_1487wtmk1 We got in some new papers and embellishments from Kimberly Polson.  There is something so pretty about the colors of this line, it is subtle but with a splash of burnt orange.

Sl Some really cute acrylic stamps from Sassafras Lass arrived.  I love the whimsical characters like the popsical and the cute owls.

F2 F1 F We also received a variety of pretty flowers in.  There are felt flowers in a variety of colors as flowers that come with "bling" centers, a page can always use a bit of bling!

Kp1 Mr Lastly, from Maya Road we received some chipboard flower petals, heart chipboard key chains, and a sheer purse album.

We are open late tonight and tomorrow so come join us for some cropping.
