We would like to take this time to wish each of you a Happy Thanksgiving! We hope that all of you are having a wonderful day. This is the perfect time for us to take a moment to thank each and everyone of you for your patronage and friendship. You all mean the world to us. Thank you!
Our reorder of Jenni Bowlin's beautiful Core Impression Collection by Core'dinations arrived today and it was just as exciting opening the box up this time as it was last week. This paper collection only lasted a day last time, so for all of you waiting for it, it's back!
We're open until midnight tomorrow for cropping and fun so put that turkey in the fridge and come join us.
We have been a little busy around here with Reflections and planning other projects for you that we forgot to share some new product with you. It's either that or we wanted to keep it all to ourselves and who could blame us when we tell you everything we've gotten in.
First up Collage Press, Joy Ride. It's their new release for the Holidays and it is so vibrant and lively! It looks much brighter in person then online and was a fresh pop of color when we opened the box. Collage Press never disappoints! We only wish they would put out a few more releases every year.
Our next arrival this week was from Jenni Bowlin. Ahhhh, there is nothing like some beautiful new Jenni Bowlin to put a big happy smile on your face. Along with Jenni's extension line to her Red Black collection we also got in her new calender cards, mini paper packs, raffle tickets and the embossed paper pack by Coordinations.
And just when you thought the goodness couldn't stop we also have in the new October Afternoon. Oh, just in case you didn't catch that the first time, we have the new October Afternoon in! Need we say more...? We think not. Pure happiness.
And finally, a table full of 7G product that is just a table full of eye candy that makes your imagination go crazy with fun ideas. To see both these lines you can check everything out by clicking here.
For those of you out there who have taken that next step in photography and are working with RAW files, this is for you…
If you’ve always wanted to get a quick preview of your RAW files in Windows Explorer as the Preview Utility here’s something that can help: The WIC RAW Codec Pack.
We know it’s a mouthful, but this little bit of software will fill in the gaps for those of you who don’t want to start an editing program just to watch a slide show or preview your pictures.
Just download the Codec pack to your PC and install it. Now you’ll be able to preview RAW files, see thumbnails in the Windows Explorer window and be able to do quick rotates and crops all without having to start up Photoshop or your Canon/Nikon Editing software.
Have you ever taken a bunch of pictures at an event and had inconsistent color in all the shots? Doesn’t it bug you? I know it bugs us… With so many features in modern DSLRs you’d think we’d all be taking pictures like the pros!
One of the things we’re on the lookout for are things that make life easier, especially when it comes to photography. Anything we can do to keep us from pulling out the manual is a real treat. Recently we’ve discovered a handy little accessory that puts the joy back into picture taking. Introducing the: White Balance Lens Cap.
This little gadget will pay for itself the first time you use it. All you have to do is figure out how to put your DSLR in a custom white balance mode, put the cap on, snap a picture (yup, with the cap on), take the cap off and then fire away. With a little tinkering you should see even color, even lighting and better contrast in all the pictures taken during the same session.
This little gem is definitely worth the price of admission and it will make a great stocking stuffer or birthday gift for your all your shutterbug friends.
If you’ve ever wanted to find a good alternative for Adobe’s Photoshop that wouldn’t cost a proverbial “arm and a leg”, look no further than Paint.Net. After spending some time with GIMP and other alternatives for our PCs, we have really begun to appreciate the look and feel of Paint.Net. Of course, the icing on the cake is that the program is free!
Paint.Net provides most of the features of Photoshop without all the complexity and should suit most users for quick photo editing tasks and some intermediate ones as well. Even if you have some experience with layering and photo montages you should feel right at home with Paint.Net.
We’ve managed to handle all of our editing challenges with Paint.Net and love the fact that it’s fast and doesn’t take up a lot of room on your hard drive.
Give it a try and start working on those pictures, your Scrapbooking projects will love you for it!
