Elegant and Ornate

These are two words that best describe the new Dining Room collection from Heidi Swapp. This collection, with its muted colors and beautiful patterned papers is simply stunning. The coordinating new 5x7 transparencies are not only great for photos on layouts but they are actually intended to be used with Heidi's new 5x7 mirror albums. These new mirror albums are so unique. Just wait until you see what you can do with a little paint and one of Heidi's masks on this new book. It looks incredible!Img_3268wtmkImg_3270wtmk

Img_3275wtmk_2 Img_3276wtmk Img_3277wtmk_3 Img_3267wtmk A "light and easy winter" is what Heidi had in mind when she created her new Winter Fresh collection. We couldn't resist this terrific pink, green and white color palette and the wonderful patterns of this collection.  Img_3284wtmk_2

Img_3315wtmk Img_3304wtmk Img_3311wtmkImg_3312wtmk The new, Street Smarts line has an energetic and adventurous vibe to it that is perfect for any boy, or boy at Img_3305wtmk_2 heart, but don't be fooled by it. This cool new collection is so versatile, that even the girliest of girls will love it as you can see here in this pretty layout create by Heidi herself.

Home At Last!

Img_4221wtmk Whew, the last couple of days have been crazy! First, we apologize for the lack of posts yesterday. We had settled in for the evening and we were on a roll when technical difficulties hit - hard. With tech support being back home there wasn't anything we could do.

Today was the final day of the show and we finished it up with even more orders! It was a really good show and we accomplished a lot. It is always fun being at the shows, but it's also nice coming home to our loved ones. That's why it's always so frustrating when you run into problems at the airport. We were all set to board when they told us the plane had mechanical problems and they needed to bring in another plane for us. After a two-hour wait we boarded the new plane and were all ready to take off when...we were told this plane had mechanical problems too! Oy! Finally after two hours of sitting in the plane they were able to fix the problem and we were on our way. I'm starting to think Chicago doesn’t like us to leave. Well, we are finally home and tomorrow we will continue all our CHA-S updates.

Good night for now!

Tim Holtz just doesn't Stop

...and we are all thankful for that! We can always count on Tim and Ranger to bring us lots of cool and innovative products. Tim introduced new removable adhesive “mask” stencils in six unique designs. With a little ink or acrylic paint you’ll be able to create amazing effects on your projects and pages. Best of all, Tim’s new masks are clear which will allow you to “see” your masked image while you paint. Tim also has expanded his very popular Grungeboard line to offer even more shapes in seasonal, nature and iconic themes. There are also new Grungeboard mini books with staggered pages as well. We found some fun new additions in the Stickles line and we’re sure you will be amazed at all the sparkle in the new Glitz Stickles. And for a totally different look, Tim's new Distress Stickles offer a great new twist. They are available in six colors and when they dry they still sparkle, but the texture is grainy. It’s a winning combination!Img_3212wtmk_2

Happy Campers...

At least that's what you think when you see Jack's World and Mr. Campy, just two of the new lines by Cosmo Cricket.  Mr. Campy is the new outdoors line which features a marshmallow and a chocolate bar! Tres cute! I'm normally not a "campy" person (sorry about the pun), but how can you not love a marshmallow and a chocolate bar hanging out together! It cracked me up! And the papers are cute too! The people at Cosmo Cricket have a great sense of humor.Img_2888wtmk_2
Img_2889wtmk Img_2890wtmk Img_2891wtmk Img_2908wtmk Img_2927wtmk

Jack's World is a playful collection with a slight vintage feel that will be great for school or childhood pages.
Img_2874wtmk Img_2875wtmk Img_2876wtmk Haunted is Cosmo Crickerts Holloween line which was a real treat with its deep fall colors and fun halloween images.
Img_2877wtmk_3 Img_2878wtmk_3 Img_2879wtmk_2 Img_2880wtmk_2 We Especially loved their new rub-ons which come in a book that contain over 90 rub-ons  at a price point that's great too. The cream colored rubon in this photo is an example of one of the label rub-ons.Img_2906wtmk_2

CHA Review

Since we can't decide which paper line we like best, we flipped a coin and decided to start with Sassafras Lass. Just like last year, Sassafras Lass has added a fun bordered trim to the bottom of their papers again and if you loved the deer and owl from before they are back and even better. This year the paper seemed a little bolder and stronger in their color hues. The new lines are "Happy Place", "Hog Heaven", "Woodland Whimsy" and "Fawnd of You Too". In addition to their new papers the also came out with some new clear stamp sets and new printed chipboard diecuts that coordinate with the new papers. We also re-ordered their "in a stitch" embellishments that sold out so fast from the last show.

One of the new vendors we visited today was Black Market Paper Society. This new company offers funky papers that have an artistic feel to them. Their double-sided paper has a linen texture to it on both sides. The company is so new they don’t even have a website yet. They were nice enough though to give us lots of giveaways for our sold out CHA Crop!

Pink Paislee has two new lines compete with printed stickers and borders with coordinating chipboard pieces. Overlays with glitter accents and new metallic finish papers. The new lines are caled "Pop Fashion" and "Vintage Moon. The great new font they released at the show is called fashion script and the colors match the Pop Fashion line perfectly. I can't wait to play!

Img_2694wtmk Img_2695wtmk Img_2702wtmk Jenni, Jenni, Jenni…where do you get all of your inspiration from? The new Victoria line is breathtaking and don’t be mistaken, as Jenni told us, the colors are not pastel but a butter-cream and a classic green, inspired by the cars of the '50s. We just love how Jenni comes up with great new products to go along with her esisiting lines. A perfect example of this, are her new 4x4 mini albums. She’s designed them to fit her 4x4 printed paper squares. Also new for Jenni at the show are apothecary labels, large and mini bingo cards in vintage black and ivory and crepe paper ribbon. Check out this layout and see how she cleverly used this new ribbon. Thanks for another great release Jenni!

Img_2769wtmk Img_2768wtmk Img_2767wtmk Img_2771wtmk Img_2779wtmk Img_2782wtmk Crate Paper’s line has a different feel to it with bolder colors being used in each of their three new lines, “Prudence”, “Mia, and “Lemon Grass”. New to their collection are their glittered die-cuts, scalloped papers, glitter borders, and epoxy buttons (which we ordered everything of). This release was a real change for them because if you remember their previous releases, their color choices and graphics were much softer.

It’s always pure love with Hambly. I love how they set their own trends and think outside the box. A perfect example of this are these new moustache rub-ons. Come on, we all have a photo or two that’s just calling out for a little added spunk. They took a new twist with some of their papers and printed their graphics on top of a subtle patterned paper. Hopefully you can see what we’re talking about in the pictures. Hambly’s other new items were fun birdcage and bicycle paper and overlays as well as their popular black brocade that is now also available as an overlay.

OK, let me massage my fingers for this one because it’s going to be long. The new release from American Crafts is just full of one surprise after another. They introduced several fabulous collections at the show. “Moda Bella” is a stunning new collection that was inspired by the fashion industry. “Romance” is a sweet new line that will remind you of a yummy box of candy. The “Everyday” collection is a playful yet versatile line with fun, bright colors that will be perfect for just about any layout. The cheerful Christmas collection is a must-have for the holiday season and the new Travel collection will have you ready to book your next vacation. Each of these new collections includes patterned papers, thickers, ribbons, rub-ons, and so much more. A fun new addition to American Crafts line of embellishments is their new “Flair” adhesive badges. These cool little metal badges will add a unique touch to your pages and projects. As if all this wasn’t enough there were even more surprises to be found in their very popular line of alphabet Thickers. Subway, Tinsel, Darling, and Chit Chat are their four new fonts and are available in styles such as foil, puffy and even a new higher density foam. And the best part of all...It starts shipping right away.Img_2376wtmk

Teresa Collins

Well one thing is for sure, Teresa Collins is on fire this year. Once again her booth was filled with one surprise after another. She unveiled three new collections called Spooktacular, Bon Appetite, and 'Tis the Season. She has also released patterned papers in both 12x12 and 8x8 for all three of the new lines. In addition to the new paper lines she also came out with new bracket shaped book covers and lots of new stamps. And as if all these fabulous new products weren't already enough, plans are already in the works for Teresa to back to the store to teach later this year!Img_3320wtmk_2       Img_3325wtmk

Creative Imaginations and SEI

We are back from the pre-parties and it is always at this point that I start to get really excited about the show. Karen Russell hit another home run with her Narratives collection. She’s added new luscious die cut papers and new journaling cards that are individually packaged versus the old packaging which came in a book. This now allows the journaling spots to be in different shapes and sizes, but still in all the great coordinating colors.

Img_2234wtmk_2Img_2238wtmk_2 Img_2237wtmk_2 Img_2241wtmk_2

Img_2359wtmk_3 It’s always fun to run into old friends. Cheryl Mezziti was working a 'Make and Take' table and she was her usual fun, perky self. You can’t help but smile and laugh when you talk to her. She’s just contagious that way!

From CI we headed over to SEI where their new fall line made you want to curl up in front of a warm fire (even though it was 90 degrees outside today!). The rich colors of Windsor played off each other beautifully in elegant patterns. The flocked papers in this line were nice and thick and will retail for only .99 cents. That’s a great price point for flocked paper, especially when it’s this yummy.
Img_2362wtmk_2 Img_2363wtmk_2 Img_2361wtmk_3 Alpine Frost is another line from SEI that caught our attention. The colors gave us a warm nostalgic feel, with deep reds, olive greens and rich browns. It made us think of Christmas in a small town...
